Read Those EULAs!!

by crazyskills on Aug.05, 2009, under news, question

As reported [youtube.com] by Glenn Beck:

You may have heard about this.. the Cash For Clunkers program. Well, if you go to cars.gov to register or even learn more about it, make sure you read the EULA (End User License Agreement.) This is absolutely nuts. Check this out:

“This application provides access to the DoT CARS system. When logged on to the CARS system, your computer is considered a Federal computer system and is the property of the U.S. Government.”

But wait… There’s more!

“Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign.”

What is the deal here? I am almost speechless. That is absolutely ludicrous! Do they (the government of this United States) really think they can get away with saying this? How many millions of people just clicked right through it without reading?

That’s right. The latest issue of the duPont Registry is now online!

Everything from the return of the American muscle car to European exotics and luxury automobiles. Definitely worth a flipping through.
