Here’s what I’m thinking.  Shoud be quite the beast.  I am building a machine with maximim longevity.  That is the plan.  Take a look!

I have re-enabled comments, because I think they are a good idea, and have put in place a couple hundred spam filters, so let’s see what this does.

Alright.  Seems that defining the variables didn’t take care of the problem as I hoped it would.  So what I have done now is disable the warnings for uninitialized variables using:

no warnings ‘uninitialized’;

This makes the server respond to requests MUCH faster, not spitting out 850 warnings everytime a user pulls up the track list in their browser.  So far no ill-affects.  We’ll keep ya posted.

IBM has been working on “Layered” chips. “The chip’s components are built in a 3D stack instead of side by side on a silicon wafer.” These chips are watercooled by pipes as thin as a strand of human hair.

Apparently, “Chips built in a three-dimensional stack formation offer more pathways for info to be

processed and can shorten the distance chip information needs to travel by as much as 1,000 times.”

Well, it’s been a few days and the server hasn’t left me at a command line (and it has crashed, but started right back up like a good watchdog.) So it appears that the problem was calling another batch file from within the first. Adding the perl line to the watchdog seems to have solved the problem.

Not the newest card out there anymore, but still does everything I ask it to.

I was having issues of my machine freezing up after extended periods of 3D activity.  I initially thought it was an issue with my sound card, because when it froze, it got stuck in an audio loop, but I have since realized that it was my video card overheating.  Fortunately, there is a great little program out there called “ATITool” (not to be confused with another outstanding program called ATI Tray Tools.)  ATITool allows me to override the fan controls on my card, and when set to 100%, I haven’t had a crash yet.

We don’t want to give anyone the wrong idea. So we have changed the home page of www.crazyskills.com. You will notice an addition of Microsoft@work news items. For those of you who preferred it the way it was, you are welcome to figure out how to get the old feed back. The functionality is still there. For most viewers, it is recommended to stick with the new modified page.

My brain is numb.  I have been applying for positions through careerbuilder all morning.  Hopefully something comes out of it all.  Just taking a break here to collect my thoughts and send out a hello to readers of the world.

On the upside, crazyskills.com has received 8,000 hits per day for the last 12 days.  Many thanks go out to you, our viewers.  We are heading toward another record month.

That’s got to mean something.  Especially since I have been out of town and without internet access for 8 of these 12 days.  (read: no hits from me during that time.)
