Microsoft Office 2010 Mondo Screenshots Leaked [blogsdna.com]

I could say plenty of bad things about Microsoft right now and their Office software… but I can’t think of any.

They certainly seem to have improved on what is included in the Office suite in recent revisions. Back last time I had a copy (free) they were in the practice of removing items (Frontpage.)

Well, I suppose someone will end up buying it. Let us know how it goes!

Note to self (and anyone else interested):

Though the Creative Labs X-Fi Elite Pro has both optical and RCA digital in jacks, they are not intended to be used simultaneously. Having devices plugged into both of them will cause you a world of “Where is that distortion coming from?” even if you are not moving data through them at the same time.

I was wondering why I was having occasional distortion problems and rebooted machines, tried different cables before I realized maybe using them both together might not be a wise plan. Use a 1/4″ stereo - RCA adapter in one of the front input jacks on the breakout box for the lesser device.

a lot. I love the hot weather and driving with the sunroof and windows open. I love laying on the beach soaking up the sun. But I was just thinking about it, the fall might be my favorite season. I really enjoy when it starts to get cool, wearing jeans everywhere and how beautiful the leaves all get as the season is changing. But then the winter’s cool too (no pun intended.) I love the cold. Wearing a sock hat. Even the snow can be beautiful, at first anyway, before it’s all brown mush on the sides of the streets. But then spring.. Spring is incredible - so much life just beginning and the promise of the warm summer coming up. Plus, as much as I enjoy the winter, by the time it is over I am ready for it to end. And the spring is such a pleasant reminder that it isn’t always going to be so cold.

I’m not particularly anti-Microsoft… though I am sick of people who credit them as originators, particularly of languages, software and operating systems. That said, they have some great products out there and have had arguably more impact on computing as we know it today than anyone else - especially in bringing computing to the masses.

If they’re really smart, they’ll GPL it. We’ll see.

a nifty tool. It seems that they adjusted the syntax somewhat in Windows 7. To set your memory cache to the “increased” setting, the command is now “fsutil behavior set memoryusage 2″ or that’s what it looks like to me anyway.

Once again, putting this out there ¹to document this system change so I can fix it if I break something! and ²in case anyone else out there finds this useful. I haven’t been able to find any documentation yet on the fsutil.exe within 7.
