Eisbier and Mustard Plaster

by crazyskills on Mar.29, 2008, under uncategorized

I feel like I have been here for a very long time.

Medicated. Life is better medicated. If you’ve ever thought about it but had it also figured out that it was evil, that is a lie. Some people require medication to function. A LOT of damn people, as it turns out. Tant mieux.

I wonder if DJ WALLY is out there somewhere. I have a single vinyl of his, MUSTARD PLASTER, on the SAMS JOINTZ record label (DJ Wally’s own) which is just brilliant. Ebay says: 55 items found for: DJ Wally in Music. Might have to check that out beyond my cursory search. But more, I wonder what he is up to these days. I wonder if he has continued to make music, because Mustard Plaster is some genuinely original stuff. People don’t always know what to think of it. but I think it is simply brilliant.

//time passes and orb consults the book of armaments.

http://www.djwallypishposh.com offers quite a bit of information and it is looking like keef destefano is alive and well and still making music.  Fantastic.

Visualizing Audio Streams

by crazyskills on Mar.27, 2008, under announcement

MilkDrop is a music visualizer - a “plug-in” to the Winamp music player. As you listen your music in Winamp, MilkDrop takes you flying through the actual soundwaves you’re hearing, and uses beat detection to trigger myriad psychedelic effects, creating a rich visual journey through sound. MilkDrop can also be driven by a live audio feed (microphone or line-in) - see the documentation for details.

MilkDrop 2 is now here, rocking the pixel shaders. Check out these screenshots.

Probably the hottest thing out there right now. And don’t judge it by the screenshots. The motion is what it’s all about. I am running it at 100FPS with no tearing, hesitating or glitching of any kind.

Obtaining MilkDrop 2 is easy! Obtain Winamp

Fair Use

by crazyskills on Mar.26, 2008, under stream of consciousness

I am thinking of a proposal. I wonder if I contacted the artists (or perhaps their record companies) I could persuade them to give me rights to broadcast their music over the internet. Probably all goes through the RIAA. And in which case, I am out of luck. You’d think in this day and age there would be in place some sort of “Lesser” licensing terms for individuals who care to share their collected music. There are sites out there like Shoutcast where anyone can share. I can only assume it is legally. What’s the difference in streaming it without using their program? Really, I mean it is just using another program to do the same thing. Wouldn’t it be something to live in a world where such usage simply fell under “fair use?”

The surface of our planet is reforming

by crazyskills on Mar.25, 2008, under announcement

cnn.com
They site global warming.  I don’t know.  Seems to me things like this just happen during a planet’s life.  But so, maybe, is global warming itself.  Still, interesting that the planet’s surface is changing.  I guess it only makes sense.  Maybe it always is.  Messed up that we have had such an impact on the planet though to cause temperature means to rise throughout the years.

Wouldn’t it be something if global warming were the impetus behind the planet’s reformation?

How much of the temperature increase is caused by us?  I doubt all.  Aren’t we slowly moving toward this sun too?  We are orbiting it after all.  Its gravity would certainly have an effect on us over time.  But I don’t know this kind of stuff.  I am not a scientist.  Just fascinated.

A letter to you

by crazyskills on Mar.14, 2008, under announcement

How have you been?  I sincerely hope well.  Things are going ok here.  Nothing terrific. Well, it all balances out.  At least it usually does.  It’s been a little on the draining side of late.  But things can only go up from the bottom, or so they say.  So how have you been?  I just can’t believe I didn’t figure it out sooner!  And who knows?  One never does.

There is a crazy program on television these days, isn’t there?  So what do people do when they write each other letters?  Ask a bunch of questions?  Go on and on about me me me?  I don’t know, but there are people who I wish I had sent more letters to.  Yep.  There’s them.  So that’s why I am writing to you.  Thank you for being you.  Seriously, you’re the best.

advertising

by crazyskills on Mar.14, 2008, under announcement

Should we have advertising on crazyskills.com?  I think I am against it, but I’ll hear any reasonable offer.  I guess what I really need to know is if I am the only one who thinks I am standing for something by not having ads.  Does that mean anything to any of you?  Sometimes I feel as though I am the only one but I think the internet should be free and that is what this has all been about so far.  Though it is untapped revenue.
maserati With the number of hits we’re getting these days, it could be smart.  Maybe we could have advertisement to keep the site self-sufficient.  But would crazyskills lose something by having advertisements?  It’s up to you.  What do you think?

If we did go that route, the ads would have to be moderately sized, no blinking, no animation and of reasonable colors. Maybe I could get Maserati to rent space on crazyskills.com.  I wouldn’t bother anyone by having a nice photo of a Maserati on crazyskills.

But it is up to the community.

I am electro.

Moe’s Backroom

Tap Room No21 Brewing Company

Moe’s Backroom Pale Ale

I will not be using words like “finish” or “body” to describe this beer. They aren’t the way I feel about it. This is just a damn good beer. The amber ale is also excellent. I have not tried the amber lager yet, though I will. I just really like ale. And this is one of my favorites. Give it a try or check them out on the web at taproom21.com.

video game life

by crazyskills on Mar.03, 2008, under announcement

I think it would be funny if people waled around carrying a number of signs and held them up at points during conversation ala The Sims.  Maybe at a Sims’ convention.

I am looking forward to getting back to my store tomorrow.  Today I worked at a 4-bay.  That’s right.  Twice as many cars at once as I am used to.  It was a challenge.  I ran bottomside alone for 4 bays.  There were breaks in the day, but I don’t look forward to Friday.  I will be back there and getting my ass worked.  It’s hard to keep up where I am used to pretty smooth sailing.  2 cars isn’t too much to keep track of.  But I’m learning.

A Freeportian and an Oggukian are in a car.  Who’s driving?

The Freeport Militia representative!

Har har.
